Augustina Kawei is currently in her final year at Toronto Metropolitan University in the
Bachelor of Social Work Advance standing program. Her passion for social change and making
a difference inspired and motivated her both professionally and to engage with empowering
individuals in her community. As an aspiring social worker, her experience working with
vulnerable populations and her lived experience has led to her enthusiasm to take initiatives to
participate and contribute to community wellbeing. As a caring and compassionate person,
Augustina fights for social justice and applies anti-oppression practices. As a lifelong learner,
she seeks to empower those around her and support and transform lives. After over 3 years of
working in different career paths in different industries and environments, Augustina decided to
pursue her passion of social work. She graduated with an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in
International Development Studies and Health Studies from the University of Toronto in 2014.
She later graduated with high honours in Social Service Work from Seneca College in 2019. She
would like to tackle new challenges and make a change in the lives of individuals who feel
oppressed, marginalized, and neglected in society.
