Mathis Cleuziou

Communications Officer

Mathis has had the privilege of growing up internationally. He has benefited from a range of different experiences across several countries, and he began organising for youth and environmental justice while in High School.

Currently in his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, pursuing a double major at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, as well as at the School of the Environment, he is a passionate environmental and youth organiser. He was an integral part of the organisation which led to the University of Toronto and all affiliated colleges' commitment to divest their multi-billion dollar endowments from the fossil fuel industry.

In his roles as the Youth Delegate for the Toronto Community Benefits Network and as the Environment and Climate Crisis Lead for the City of Toronto's Youth Cabinet, Mathis and his team are currently fighting for more green, unionised, careers for young people, as well as flood protection and youth spaces in the Don Valley, and a more accessible and consciously expanded transit system in the City of Toronto. He is also a published academic researcher, columnist, and holds an executive certificate in Leadership in Organising from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he studied under Marshall Ganz in 2024.
