Payton Mitchell

Communications Officer

Payton is the Communications Officer for ICL. She is currently finishing her undergraduate degree in political science, indigenous studies and sustainability at Concordia University, where she is serving her third mandate as a student union executive. A founding member of the Quebec and Canadian climate strike groups, La CEVES and Climate Strike Canada, Payton is passionate about activating the power of the student movement to drive the necessary radical social and economic change needed to save ourselves from the worst impacts of the climate crisis.

Outside of the student movement, Payton has worked with other youth within her rural community in Southern Ontario to educate residents about the racial injustice in our region– specifically in support of increased rights for migrant farm workers; as well as justice for Six Nations and the Land Defenders at Land Back Lane. Both through in-person action and digital education.

Seniors’ care first. Bickering later.

We are calling for a true national plan for seniors’ care.
