Shiri Pasternak is a Toronto-based researcher, writer, and organizer. She is the co-founder and former Research Director at Yellowhead Institute, currently on a research leave from the Institute. She is an Assistant Professor in Criminology at X University. Her book, Grounded Authority, is an in-depth critique of the federal land claims policy in Canada from the perspective of Algonquin law, and was published in 2017. She is also the co-author of three major reports published by the Yellowhead Institute and many other newspaper and academic articles.
