ICL is turning 5 and we are SO EXCITED! Please join us, in person, for a night to remember.

Our keynote speaker is Samra Zafar, a bestselling author and educator for mental health and human rights. Her book, A Good Wife: Escaping the Life I Never Chose, based on her journey of escaping an abusive child marriage to pursue her education, is a national bestseller and was one of CBC's Best Books of 2019.

There will also be chances to win prizes, performances by famed Canadian poet (and first Poet Laureate of Ontario) Randell Adjei, an address from Janet Merlo, an activist for victims of harassment and gender discrimination in the RCMP, the presentation of the ICL Alumni Awards, and warm hellos from all of the friendly faces of ICL.

WHERE: Sears Atrium, George Vari Engineering and Computing Center, Third Floor, X University, 245 Church St, Toronto, ON (map)

By registering here you will join a limited audience of 25 that has been invited to celebrate in person. The event will also be broadcast live to an online audience.

It has been such a journey getting to this point, so friends new and old, please come and celebrate our half-decade of empowering social justice seekers to enact the change in which they seek.

Since launching in 2016 we have been hard at work equipping organizers with the skills they need to make social change. Despite the ongoing pandemic, 2021 has been a busy year: we’ve trained over 2,000 new activists and formed partnerships with 25 new organizations across Canada and the United States.

Join us to celebrate these accomplishments, get inspired, and have some fun!
