TORONTO (November 14, 2019)―The Institute for Change Leaders’ (ICL) Board of Directors and staff are excited to welcome their new Executive Director, Natasha Bood, to the organization. ICL is a nonprofit organization, founded in 2016 by Olivia Chow, dedicated to the development of community organizing skills.
"It's an honour to accept the role of Executive Director at ICL and to work with the exceptional team of people who are working to help the Institute achieve its mission of catalyzing change in our society,” said Natasha. “My thanks to the Board, the search committee and Olivia Chow for your leadership and support in this role."
Natasha Bood is an arts administrator who has worked in some of Canada’s most innovative and exciting classical music organizations. From 2011 to 2018 Natasha was the Executive Director of the Toronto Summer Music Festival and Academy; during that time she helped to grow the Festival's attendance by 105%. In 2014, Toronto Summer Music became the first arts organization to win the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Mo Davies Award for Excellence in Fundraising, small organizations. Natasha was the recipient of the 2015 John Hobday Award in Arts Management from the Canada Council for the Arts, a $10,000 prize that allowed her to participate in a number of leadership courses at the Banff Centre.
Natasha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Regina and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Arts Administration and Cultural Management from Humber College in Toronto.
“ICL was looking for an experienced non-profit professional who would bring both a passion for grassroots community organizing and the experience of growing and scaling a non-profit organization,” said Rizwan Tufail, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Natasha brings both in equal measure. We are excited about the next phase of growth of our work under Natasha’s leadership and guidance.”
