This course has already taken place.

ICL will be hosting an online trauma-informed facilitation training for all ICL facilitators. The training will focus on learning how to coach trauma-informed storytelling, set reasonable boundaries for telling trauma-focused stories, and care for yourself when you are exposed to trauma in stories. The training will not qualify you to do trauma counselling or work with trauma survivors outside of ICL trainings.

The training will be taught by Melanie Matthews. Melanie is a registered social worker who operates a private practice. She specializes in working with clients who have experienced trauma and have a personality disorder diagnosis. She has been an ICL facilitator for 4 years.

This training is mandatory for all facilitators who will be working with groups who will likely be telling stories that include trauma ( e.g. refugees, domestic violence survivors). The training is strongly encouraged for all facilitators. ICL's goal is for all facilitators to be trauma-informed.

The training will be approximately 1.5 hours long with time for questions and discussion.

There are two opportunities to join the training: October 18th at 5:00pm EST and October 22nd at 1:00pm. This page will register you for October 22nd. To register for October 18th, please visit this page: https://www.changeleaders.ca/trauma_informed_facilitation18.
